Each year HHAAOR identifies key Realtors to plan and set goals for the coming year. Following are the Goals adopted by the Board of Directors for the past few years:

2007:
  • Educate members regarding industry change.
  • Increase Broker involvement in the Association
  • Find more effective way to communicate with our members.
  • Develop a system to better train new agents.
  • Increase RPAC contributions by 60%.
  • Office facility needs of expanded membership.
  • Solve the member apathy.
  • Create a public relations effort to enhance business.
  • Contribute to the Hilton Head/Bluffton matching funds "Destination Marketing Campaign" supported by the State of SC by exploring ways of contributing to this tourism effort. Appoint an Ad Hoc Committee to review advantages and disadvantages.
  • Create a program that encourages non-Realtors to join the Association.
2006:
  • Professional Development - Offer several one-hour classes throughout the year at flexible times for new agents (3 years or less) and seasoned agents on topics that add to their professional and ethical practice.
    • Train new agents (R.E.E.L.) in writing contracts, Code of Ethics, plantation data, FSBO/agency, SCAR forms, Realtor.org offerings, etc.
    • Train all Realtors® (P.D. Seminars) on Ethics, fiduciary duties, laws, negotiations, new properties, broker round tables.
  • Add Value to Membership (including geographic scope)
    • Modify Bylaws to allow SCAR and NAR officers to be ex-officio Board members, and to enlarge Board of Directors to enable more diverse representation of our members.
  • Broker involvement with monthly calls to BICs
  • Risk Management Seminars
  • Improve Realtor Image
    • Standardize advertising.
  • Communications with Members
  • Form focus group to determine consumer's image of Realtors.
  • Create a Task Force to study off-Island meeting and education opportunities.
  • Increase Political Activity and Awareness (including RPAC)
    • Encourage all BICs to include RPAC information at sales meetings.
    • Address RPAC at all luncheons.
2005:
  • Continue professional development sessions
  • Elevate the status of the Realtor Service Award (RSA) Program
  • Establish programs for new members
  • Build at least one Habitat House
  • Hire a lobbyist
  • Continue emphasis on establishing a Realtor Housing Opportunity Fund
  • Stress the return on investment and other benefits of RPAC
  • Evaluate the Distinguished Sales Award (DSA) Program
  • Strengthen our membership policy
  • Sponsor four meetings a year with lawmakers
  • Expand the orientation sessions for new members
  • Achieve attendance of 200 at the SCAR Convention at Hilton Head
  • Increase local functions and presence at the SCAR Convention
2004:
  • RPAC participation will be 65%
  • 400 Members of our Association will attend the NAR Convention in Orlando
  • Broker Services Task Force will be formed
  • Habitat for Humanity House will be built
  • Housing Fund will be established from interest on escrow deposits
  • New member participation will increase
  • Governmental Affairs participation will increase
2003
  • Be Seen as the Voice of Real Estate
  • Provide ethical environment to promote a higher standard of behavior
  • Representation at Significant Govt. meetings
  • Better Website with updated, pertinent and current information
  • Promote the difference between Realtors and "Others"
  • Technology Seminars provided to members to meet their Current and Future needs
  • Conduit of information from NAR and SCAR
  • HHAAOR has a representative on the MLS Board
  • Improve on public image of REALTOR's by marketing and additional Community service
  • Consistency of Format and Use of Forms
